Zeiss CP.2 85mm T1.5 Super Speed

The Zeiss CP.2 85mm T1.5 Super Speed is a fast short telephoto from the CP.2 range, built for portraits and low-light work. It is faster than the standard CP.2 lenses, with improved optics.

The Super Speed version uses two aspheric elements and two abnormal partial dispersion elements. At T1.5 it handles low light with less need for added lighting and gives a shallow depth of field that isolates a subject. The geared rings and standard housing mean it works with any follow focus and matte box, alongside the rest of a CP.2 set. It pairs well with the 50mm and 35mm.

The aperture runs from T1.5 to T22, with a 14-blade iris. It covers full frame (24 x 36mm), has a 17 degree angle of view and focuses to 1m. The front diameter is 114mm and the weight is about 0.9kg. A 300 degree focus rotation gives long throws for precise pulls.
