Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 50mm T2.1

The Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 50mm T2.1 is the standard lens of the CP.2 family, in a robust cine housing with an interchangeable mount system. Its close focus makes it useful as both a normal lens and a detail lens.

The CP.2 body is built for cine work: a full-metal housing with standardised interfaces, calibrated focus scales, standard focus and iris gear positions and a long focus rotation, so a follow focus fits without adjustment. T* coating and Zeiss's optical design keep flare down, and the 14-blade aperture gives a nearly circular iris.

The aperture runs from T2.1 to T22. Close focus is 0.45m, which is close for a 50mm and handy for inserts and product details. The front diameter is 114mm, the lens weighs about 0.9kg and the angle of view is 28 degrees. It is a full-metal, geared lens that works with any standard follow focus and matte box.
