Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 4x5.65 Filter Set

The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist is a diffusion filter that softens contrast and adds a gentle halation around lights while keeping blacks deep. This set is in the 4x5.65 size for standard cinema matte boxes.

Black Pro-Mist is a favourite for a modern, filmic image. It lifts highlights into a soft glow, takes the edge off digital sharpness and keeps shadows dark, which is the main difference from the standard Pro-Mist. Skin tones stay natural and a little warmer, and the effect gets stronger with each grade.

The filters are 4x5.65 inch (Panavision size) and use Tiffen's ColorCore process, where the filter material is laminated between two pieces of optical glass and ground flat to tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch. This keeps colour and density uniform across the glass. They fit a standard 4x5.65 matte box tray.
