Mount | Standard top stud |
Build | Castor wheels, folding legs |
A low roller stand on folding legs, used to hold lights at or near floor level. It suits uplights, floor-level fills, backlighting a subject from behind furniture and rigging lights under a car or a table, where a normal stand would be too tall.
The wheels let you roll the stand into position without lifting it, which is quick on a set where a light has to be moved between takes, and the legs fold for transport. It sits low and wide, which gives a stable base for a heavy head. Wheels run best on a hard floor. Lock the wheels or use sandbags on rough ground or if the head is heavy.
The low-boy roller stand has castor wheels, folding legs and a standard stud on the top, so it takes most lights and accessories directly. Its low profile keeps the head close to the floor, which is the whole point for uplights, under-furniture fills and tight corners.
