Ronford Baker Hi-Hat (MOY)

The Ronford Baker Hi-Hat is a heavy duty ground level mount for Mitchell and MOY pattern heads. It is used for low angle shots and anywhere a tripod's minimum height is still not low enough.

It is the older, tougher alternative to a bowl hi-hat, built for the era of large studio cameras and still useful when you are running MOY tripods or a heavy Mitchell base fluid head. The aluminium construction keeps it rigid under a big camera. It sits flat on the floor, a platform or a vehicle. It suits low angle shots on a studio floor, on a vehicle roof, or on any flat surface where the camera needs to sit directly on a rigid base.

It is rated to around 110kg and has a Mitchell and MOY base support swivel, plus a 100mm swivel on a 5/8 inch tipped support foot and top tray. All of it is aluminium. Pair it with a Mitchell mount fluid head such as an OConnor 2575B and check the rig weight against the rating before use.
