The Insta360 X4 is a 360 degree action camera that records 8K video and 72 megapixel photos from two 1/2 inch sensors. It captures everything around it in one take, then lets you choose the framing afterwards.

Recording at 8K in 30fps gives enough resolution to pull flat, conventional shots from the 360 image in post. FlowState stabilisation and horizon levelling keep footage steady on a bike, a car or a handheld pole, and the camera hides the selfie stick from the final image. The two lenses stitch into one spherical image.

It records 8K at up to 30fps, 5.7K at up to 60fps and 4K at up to 100fps, with a 135 minute battery life under test conditions. The body weighs 203g and is waterproof to 10 metres without a case. It suits POV, vehicle, event and crash-cam work, where one small camera replaces several, and editing is done in Insta360's app.
