The Hawk-Woods BP-98UX is a 98Wh lithium-ion battery in the Sony BP-U form factor, for cameras and recorders that take BP-U packs. It adds Power-con outputs for powering accessories from the same pack.

On a camera build it gives a drop-in replacement for the Sony BP-U pack with more output options. The two Power-con (D-Tap) outputs, regulated between 11 and 17V, power a monitor or a wireless video transmitter from the camera battery, so there is one battery to charge instead of three. It has a built-in fuel gauge to check the charge level before the day starts.

Capacity is 98Wh (6806mAh) at 14.4V. The battery measures about 3.6 x 1.5 x 2.7 inches and operates from -4 to 122F (-20 to 50C). The system is BP-U, so it fits Sony BP-U cameras and BP-U chargers, and at 98Wh it sits under the 100Wh limit for carrying lithium batteries in cabin baggage.
