The SmallHD Indie 7 is a 7 inch touchscreen monitor in SmallHD's professional range, light and vivid for daylight work. It is the entry model of the series and still carries a full set of on-set monitoring tools.
It has a 1920x1200 IPS panel at 1000 nits and 10-bit colour, with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 323 PPI. The chassis is lightweight, thin and rugged aluminium, made for heavy production use, and the touchscreen is quick to respond to taps and swipes in the menus.
The PageOS 4 software gives false colour, focus peaking, zebras, histogram, RGB parade, vectorscope, waveform, pixel-to-pixel zoom and anamorphic de-squeeze. It takes HDMI and 3G-SDI, passing both through, with a 3.5mm headphone jack. At about 537g it is a good size for a handheld or cage-mounted screen. It is a light option on a cage or in a hand.
