A 6x6 foot silent full grid cloth, a heavy diffusion fabric that cuts light by over two stops and softens it. It is used on a frame between a light or the sun and the subject, to reduce contrast and soften shadows on a face or a small area.

A full grid cloth is the strongest of the grid cloths and the one to use when you need to take a lot of light off. At 6x6 it covers a single or a tight two-shot and goes up quickly on a single stand with a frame. The silent finish means it does not rattle or crackle in wind. It keeps a neutral colour. Use a half or quarter grid for a lighter cut, and put sandbags on the stand legs when the wind picks up.
