Full Artificial Black Silk - 6x6

A 6x6 foot full black artificial silk, a diffusion fabric used on a frame between a light and the subject. It softens and reduces the light like a white silk, but without a white surface to bounce light back, so it avoids adding spill into the scene.

A black silk gives a more controlled diffusion than a white one. The light passes through and is softened, but no white fabric reflects it back to the set, so it does not lift the shadow areas or the background. That makes it useful where you want to soften and cut a source without adding ambient fill, for instance on a night scene or with a high-contrast look.

The fabric is 6 x 6ft (1.83 x 1.83m) and rigs on a 6x6 frame. The black surface is what sets it apart from the white silks: the cut in exposure comes with no bounce, so the shadows and background stay where they were.
