The DJI Ronin 4D Flex separates the Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera from the Ronin 4D main body. It keeps stabilisation, LiDAR focus and recording while the camera head goes where a full body can't.
A 2 metre thin cable links the camera head to the main body, which can be worn, mounted or placed elsewhere. This makes it useful for car rigs, cranes, jibs, tight spaces and a lighter handheld setup. The gimbal and focus system work as they do on the full Ronin 4D.
The Flex needs a Ronin 4D 6K or 8K body to run. This kit includes the Tilta Flex cage with top handle, side and base plates, a 15mm LWS baseplate and rod support, quick-release plates and hand grip adapters, so the Ronin 4D grips work on the Flex. It is a good second configuration for a Ronin 4D package, used when a full body would be too bulky.
