Circular 82mm Polarizing Filter

This 82mm circular polarising filter cuts reflections and glare, deepens skies and foliage, and raises contrast and colour saturation. It screws straight onto the front of any lens with an 82mm thread.

A polariser removes polarised light, which is the silvery reflected light that washes out colour on water, glass and other non-metallic surfaces. Turn the front ring while watching the monitor and the reflections fade, and skies and greens pick up depth. It is one of the few effects that cannot be matched in the grade.

The filter is circular, so it works with modern cameras and autofocus lenses, and it screws into an 82mm front thread. At full polarisation it costs roughly 1.3 stops of light. It is useful for car and window shots, water, wet foliage and landscape work, on a handheld camera or a lens with no matte box.
