Canon FD (TLS)

The Canon FD set is a TLS rehouse of Canon FD stills lenses made from the 1970s into the late 1980s. They share much of the look of Canon's K-35 cine primes, and like the K-35s they cover full frame.

TLS has rehoused them as proper cine lenses, with a cam-driven focus, a chassis-style housing that takes a matte box without touching the focus, and a new circular iris that keeps out-of-focus highlights round at every stop. The image is soft and flattering, with warm, organic flares and a gentle fall-off into focus.

The set is six lenses. The 18mm T1.6 and 35mm T1.5 are FD-X, TLS's extended range built from FD glass; the 24mm T1.5, 28mm T2.1, 55mm T1.3 and 85mm T1.3 are FD SSC. All six are PL mount and cover full frame. Five share a 110mm front diameter, so the matte box stays in place between lenses; the 18mm has a 143mm front.
