The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM is a compact, lightweight L-series telephoto zoom for full-frame EOS cameras. It is a sensible choice when you want reach and L-series image quality without the weight of an f/2.8.

Inner focusing and a ring-type ultrasonic motor give fast, quiet autofocus. The front element does not rotate during focusing, so a circular polariser or a matte box can stay in place. The result is a lens that is straightforward to handle on a gimbal or a lightweight handheld rig.

It covers 70 to 200mm at a constant f/4, with 16 elements in 13 groups and a diagonal angle of view from 34 to 12 degrees. Close focus is 1.2m and the filter size is 67mm. The tripod collar is sold separately and is the same one used with the EF 300mm f/4L USM. It is a light long zoom for handheld and travel work.
