Canon 45mm FD-X T1.5 (TLS)

The Canon 45mm FD-X T1.5 is one of four lenses in our TLS rehoused Canon FD range, in PL mount. At T1.5 it is the fastest lens in the FD set, which suits low light work and portraits with a shallow plane of focus.

Canon's FD stills lenses were made from the 1970s into the late 1980s, and cinematographers use them for a soft, flattering image that shares much of the look of the Canon K-35 cine primes. TLS has rehoused them with a cam-driven focus, a chassis-style housing and a circular iris, so they handle like cine lenses. FD-X is TLS's extended range built from FD glass.

The lens is T1.5, weighs 0.90kg and focuses as close as 1'1". The front diameter is 110mm, shared across the Canon FD set, and the lens covers full frame. All four FD lenses are PL mount, so they fit cine cameras such as the ARRI Alexa 35 directly and the Alexa Mini LF through a PL to LPL adapter.
