Canon 24-105mm F2.8L (RF)

The Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is the first 24-105mm zoom with a constant f/2.8 aperture, for full-frame RF-mount cameras. One lens covers wide to short telephoto for documentary, events and run-and-gun work.

Canon designed it for video as well as stills, with a click-less aperture ring, 11 aperture blades and minimal focus breathing. A power zoom adapter (PZ-E2) can be fitted for smooth motorised zooms. Optical image stabilisation gives up to 5.5 stops of correction, or up to 8 stops with an in-body stabilised camera.

It covers 24 to 105mm at f/2.8, focuses as close as 0.45m, weighs about 1.33kg and takes 82mm filters. The mount is RF, so it suits Canon's C70, C400 and EOS R bodies. It is a sensible single-lens kit for small crews who want to avoid changing lenses. It suits handheld, gimbal and documentary work.
