BNC/SDI Cable Drum - 50m

A 50m BNC cable on a drum for long SDI and video runs, such as a camera feed to a video village or a monitor at the far end of a studio. It saves you joining several short cables, and every join is a connection that can fail.

The drum pays out only as far as the job needs and winds back in minutes at the wrap, so it is neater to carry and quicker to strike than a loose coil. Run it flat along a wall and tape it down, or use a cable protection mat where people walk. For a long run the signal shows up as drop-outs or sparkles in the picture before it fails altogether, so keep the run no longer than needed and check it at the monitor before the camera rolls.

It carries 75 ohm video on BNC connectors, the standard for SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI. It suits cameras, recorders, converters and monitors with BNC connections. Use a shorter plain SDI cable for runs under a few metres.
