Blazar Mantis 1.33x Anamorphic

The Blazar Mantis 1.33x set is five full frame anamorphic primes, 25, 35, 50, 75 and 100mm, in PL mount. The 1.33x squeeze turns a 16:9 sensor into a widescreen frame of about 2.37:1, which makes anamorphic character practical on smaller cameras and tighter schedules.

The lenses are light and compact, from 650g to 790g each, so they sit comfortably on a gimbal, a Steadicam or a handheld rig. They share an 80mm front diameter and 77mm filter thread, so one matte box and filter set serves the whole set. The 14-blade iris and 1.33x squeeze give oval highlights and horizontal flares without the weight of a 2x set.

Apertures are T2.0 on the 35, 50 and 75mm and T2.4 on the 25 and 100mm. The image circle is 36 x 24mm, covering full frame. Close focus is 0.38m on the 25mm, 0.48m on the 35 and 50mm, and 0.67m on the 75 and 100mm. The focus ring turns through 180 degrees.
