The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is a full-frame 12K cinema camera body built to be rigged, with a modular side-plate design instead of a fixed shape. It records Blackmagic RAW from a 12,288 x 8,040 RGBW sensor, which suits productions that want large-format detail with room to reframe, or a body that can sit in a cage, on a gimbal or in a compact car rig.
This kit is built around the L-Mount body and is supplied with Metabones PL to L-Mount and Sigma MC-21 EF to L-Mount adapters, so PL cine glass and EF stills lenses both fit. The URSA Cine EVF and PYXIS monitor come with their mounts, brackets and cables, and the MID49 and 8Sinn plates, 15mm rods, V-lock plate, batteries and CFexpress cards mean it arrives ready to shoot. Cards are Angelbird 1TB CFexpress Type B.
The sensor records 12K 3:2 open gate up to 40fps, 12K 16:9 up to 45fps, 12K 17:9 up to 50fps and 12K 2.4:1 up to 60fps, with 8K 3:2 up to 72fps. Dynamic range is 16 stops. It has two CFexpress Type B slots and runs from a 18V DC supply drawing around 90W, supplied here with V-lock batteries and a charger.
