The Atomos Ninja Ultra is a 5.2 inch monitor-recorder that records ProRes RAW and ProRes from an HDMI camera onto SSD, used on mirrorless and cinema cameras as both a monitor and a recorder. The kit includes the SDI module, drives, batteries and cables to work from the box.
Because the Ninja Ultra records to SSD, it gives a camera that only records to a compressed card an edit-friendly or RAW file, and it doubles as a bright 1000 nit monitor in sunlight, with a sunhood and bracket in the kit. The kit has two 500GB Angelbird AtomX SSDs with a reader, four L-series batteries with an NP-F eliminator and charger, a power adapter and a Noga arm, so the recorder can be rigged and powered for a day.
The screen is 1920 x 1080 at 1000 nits, 10-bit. It takes HDMI 2.0 and records ProRes RAW up to 8K30, 6K60 and 4K120 on compatible cameras, plus ProRes, DNxHD and H.265. It runs from 6.2 to 16.8V, weighs 360g and measures 151 x 91.5 x 31mm.
