The Aputure LS 300d II is a 300W daylight COB LED with a Bowens mount, a dependable workhorse for set lighting. It is about 20 per cent brighter than the original 300d and runs from mains or batteries.

The head takes the full range of Bowens-mount reflectors, softboxes and lens modifiers, so one fixture can be a hard or soft source. The yoke rotates through 360 degrees with a handbrake lock, so it mounts in any position. The fanless control box is silent in use, which matters on dialogue sets, and has a quick-release plate for stands and truss.

Output is daylight balanced, around 5600K, at CRI and TLCI of 96 or better, drawing about 350W. With the Fresnel 2X fitted it reaches up to 90,000 lux at 1 metre, close to a 575W HMI. Control is 0 to 100 per cent dimming, DMX512 and wireless, and it will run on a single battery at half brightness.
