Aputure Light Dome 150

The Aputure Light Dome 150 is a 150cm circular softbox for Bowens-mount fixtures, for when a smaller dome will not cover the source. It gives a broad, even wrap of light that suits large faces, interviews and product work.

The 32-sided construction gives a properly round catchlight, and the speed-ring frame pops together quickly without umbrella-style fiddling on a cold set. Paired with a high-output head such as the LS 600 or 1200 series, it has room to soften the beam properly. It is a good choice when you want a wide, gentle source close to the subject.

The dome measures 150cm across by 80cm deep when built and weighs about 3.3kg. It includes 1.5 stop and 2.5 stop diffusion fabrics for controlling contrast and a 45 degree fabric grid for cutting spill, in a carry bag. The mount fits any Bowens-mount LED head, though it works best with a high-output head.
