The Aputure CF12 is a 12 inch Fresnel for the Storm 1000c and 1200x, supplied here with its barn doors. It turns the open reflector beam of the big Storm heads into a controllable, focusable Fresnel beam for harder key light, longer throws and shaped cutting.

A dual-expanding focusing system uses several lens elements to keep the size and weight well below a conventional glass Fresnel of this diameter. You focus between spot and flood on set, then use the barn doors to cut spill off the wall or the lens. It mounts to the lamp head by Bowens mount and arrives in its own carrying case, so it travels safely between jobs.

Beam angle runs from 15 degrees at full spot to 45 degrees at full flood. On a Storm 1200x it multiplies output by up to 9.9 times, giving 84,400 lux at 1m at 5600K. The Fresnel measures 38.3 x 37.0 x 12.8cm and weighs 4.72kg, with the case at 2.65kg.
