American Apple Box - Full Set

The American Apple Box set is the standard grip tool for raising stands, cameras, lights and people. A set gives you a range of support heights to level stand legs, adjust apparent talent height or mount lights for low angle shooting.

Apple boxes are made from 9 ply Baltic birch plywood and every size is 12 by 20 inches, so they stack neatly and share a footprint. They are also handy to sit on between takes. On set they are used to prop, shim, level and raise nearly everything. A set lasts for years of rough handling because the plywood is thick and dense. Keep a few spares of each size on hand.

The boxes come in four heights: full at 8 inches, half at 4 inches, quarter at 2 inches and eighth, or pancake, at 1 inch. A full box equals two halves, four quarters or eight pancakes, so the pieces can be combined to reach almost any height. Every grip kit needs a set.
