16A Cable - 4m

A 4m 16A power lead for connecting a 16A supply to lights or distribution, for short runs inside a set where a full reel would be too much cable. It uses the 16A commando connector, the standard in UK film and TV lighting.

A short lead is neater than a long reel when the supply is close, and it avoids the heat that builds up in a reel that is not fully unwound. Use it between a distribution box and a dimmer, from a generator output to a splitter, or to link two sections of a longer run. Check the connectors are fully engaged and the cable is not trapped under a door or stand leg. For crossing walkways, cover it with a cable protection mat.

It is rated at 16A at 230V on the BS EN 60309 connector, in 4m length. The commando plug and socket are locking and weather-resistant when connected, so it suits outdoor and studio use. For 13A equipment, use a 16A to 13A adapter, and for longer runs use the 25m reel.
