16A 3-Way Splitter

A 16A three-way splitter that takes one 16A supply and shares it between three outputs, for running several lights from a single feed. It is a simple way to power a small lighting set from one commando socket.

On set it sits at the end of a 16A reel or cable and gives each light its own lead, so there is no need to run three cables back to a distribution box. Keep the combined load of everything plugged in within the 16A rating of the supply, because the splitter does not add capacity. Position it clear of the walkway, off the floor if the surface is wet, and check each connector is pushed home and locked.

It is rated at 16A, 230V, on BS EN 60309 commando connectors. The 16A rating applies to the supply as a whole, across all three outputs together. For 13A equipment use a 16A to 13A adapter, and use a 16A reel for the run from the feed to the splitter.
