Connections | 13A plug to 16A socket |
Power | 230V, limited to 13A |
A short jumper lead with a 13A UK plug on one end and a 16A socket on the other. It lets you feed 16A equipment, such as a 16A reel or a 16A light, from an ordinary 13A wall socket.
On small jobs or in a location with only domestic sockets, it connects 16A lighting kit to the house supply. Remember the limit is the 13A wall socket, not the 16A rating on the other end, so keep the load within 13A across everything on that circuit. It is not a way to draw a full 16A. For bigger lights or longer shoots, a proper 16A feed from a generator or a distribution box is the right supply.
The lead has a BS 1363 13A plug and a 16A three-pin socket, rated at 230V. Fully unwound reels are recommended with any heavy load, and the load through the jumper is limited to 13A. It is a short lead, so it is best kept close to the wall socket, with the 16A reel or cable carrying the run to the lights.
