12x12 Ultrabounce

A 12x12 foot Ultrabounce, a bounce fabric used on a large frame to turn a hard light into a broad, soft source. It reflects a lot of light evenly with little colour cast, so it is used to fill a scene from a big, soft surface.

Ultrabounce is a heavy, non-translucent fabric, so it works best as a reflector. Aim a hard source such as a big HMI or a Storm at it and the light that comes back is soft and wide. It is also used overhead as a bounce, and the reverse side acts as a black flag in the same frame. It is very opaque, so use it on a frame and put sandbags on the stands, because a 12x12 sheet catches a lot of wind.

The fabric is 12 x 12ft (3.66 x 3.66m) and rigs on a 12x12 frame, with sandbags on the stands for a sheet this size. One face is white for bounce and the reverse is black, so the same frame can be turned round to act as a flag.
