12x12 Quarter Silent Grid Cloth

A 12x12 foot silent quarter grid cloth, the lightest of the three grid cloths. It softens sunlight with a small loss in exposure, and it is the choice when you want to take the edge off hard shadows without darkening the scene much.

A quarter grid takes roughly three-quarters of a stop off the light, so it can sit over a wide area and still leave the scene bright enough to shoot at a working stop. It works well as a first layer over a scene, with a heavier grid or a silk added where you need more cut. The silent finish prevents rustling and crackling in the wind, which helps on a sound take.

The cloth is 12 x 12ft (3.66 x 3.66m) and rigs on a 12x12 frame. It is the lightest of the three grid cloths, so it can cover a wide area of an exterior and still leave the scene bright enough to shoot at a working stop.
